Plastic responsibility platform PCX Markets has launched Plastic Cleanup Hero, a new way for individuals to fund plastic waste cleanup - starting with their own footprint or as a meaningful gift that supports people and planet.

Plastic waste is everywhere - clogging rivers, polluting oceans, and entering our bodies through the food we eat and water we drink. Without bold action, experts predict there could be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050.

The average American generates about 485 lbs (220 kilograms) of plastic waste every year, according to the OECD. Through Plastic Cleanup Hero, individuals can now fund verified cleanup efforts that match the average personal plastic footprint—or go even bigger by funding cleanup by the ton.

These initiatives also create meaningful employment and infrastructure for underserved communities, strengthening local economies while cleaning up the planet.
