California Source Reduction: Building Your ISR Plan
Watch the webinar
June 11, 2026
California's SB 54 requires affected producers to reduce covered plastic packaging by 25% from a 2023 baseline by 2032, with interim milestones along the way.
To support those reductions, producers are required to develop and submit an Individual Source Reduction (ISR) Plan outlining how they intend to meet California's packaging reduction requirements. Failure to comply with SB 54 will expose producers to enforcement actions and administrative penalties, making it critical to understand both the regulatory requirements and the practical steps needed to comply.
In this webinar, PCX Markets provides a practical overview of California's source reduction requirements and the process of developing an ISR Plan for the August 1st deadline.
Topics Covered
• Who needs an Individual Source Reduction (ISR) Plan under California SB 54
• California source reduction requirements, reduction targets, and compliance timelines
• Packaging data and documentation producers should be gathering
• How to establish a baseline and identify packaging reduction opportunities
• Common challenges companies face when developing source reduction plans
• Practical approaches to implementing packaging reduction strategies
• Key compliance considerations and next steps for producers
Whether you are just beginning to evaluate your obligations under California's Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act (SB 54) or are actively developing a source reduction strategy, this session will help you better understand the requirements, risks, and opportunities associated with California packaging compliance.
